Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin AC (Retired)

Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin AC (Retd) is a leader in the national security, defence and aerospace sectors. His distinguished military career culminated in his appointment as Chief of the Defence Force of Australia from 2014-2018.

As Chief of Defence, Air Chief Marshal Binskin (Retd) successfully led the Australian Defence Force, comprising 80,000 permanent and reserve personnel, to significantly improve capabilities and responses to major global events, including large scale humanitarian and disaster response missions within Australia and the region. He also championed organisational change across national security, culture, diversity and leadership performance, oversaw the First Principles Review of Defence and successfully implemented the One Defence approach.

Since 2018, Air Chief Marshal Binskin has been appointed to various corporate and academic directorships including the Airservices Australia Board and Chair of the Australia Pacific Security College Advisory Board.

Air Chief Marshal Binskin (Retd) was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Deakin University for his significant and sustained contribution to the Australian community through his leadership positions.

He continues to enjoy flying and also maintains his passion for aviation as a member of the Governing Committee of the Temora Aviation Museum.
